The one positive was that the hotel was clean. We arrived at 6 am and were told it was fully booked, then the door was shut on us, so we booked online. Our deluxe room was extremely cold, there was mould on the walls, and the hot water didn’t work.

There wasn’t much to like beyond the location. The room was dirty, the plug points didn’t work, and basic toiletries were missing. I asked staff about Wi-Fi, but never got a clear answer or confirmation that it was available.

We had stayed here with my partner before, which made it especially frustrating to be told on arrival that they wouldn’t give us a room as a couple. I’d prepaid after booking in advance and speaking with the owner, but when I asked for my money back, they refused completely. There was no cooperation at all, and I lost 200. I called the police, but that didn’t help. The owner suddenly started talking about ethics to the policemen, which felt hypocritical. They should be clear about their policies before taking money and shouldn’t cheat customers. We both had exams the next morning and had to find another hotel late on a weekend evening. The whole thing was a really awful experience.

I stayed in a dorm and found it really comfortable. The staff were friendly and suggested good places to eat and explore. It’s budget-friendly and near the Golden Temple, so I’d recommend staying here.
