The receptionist couldn't find my online booking, so I waited 45 minutes while customer care sorted it out. Afterward, the staff weren't apologetic or respectful, and were very rude even though they knew it was their fault. There was no room service. For each facility I had to approach staff three or four times. The AC and TV were off, the washroom door had no handle, and there was no way to control the fan speed. The AC switchboard was outside the room in a small storeroom opposite it, something they expected guests to somehow know. After I asked many times, they switched the AC on, then intentionally turned it off again 15 minutes later. A total waste. I checked out within an hour.

The room had a good AC and a cupboard with hangers, though there was no rod in the cupboard. It was clean and neat, but the bathroom fittings need maintenance: hard water had blocked the shower holes and the faucet support was loose. The rooms are quite small, with barely two feet between the bed and the wall, and the extra sheets we asked for never came. I’d still recommend the place, since other options can be pretty shoddy.

We had a bad experience, and the room wasn’t worth what they charged per day. There was no electricity backup, the door lock didn’t work properly, and the washroom taps barely worked, with no water for the whole day. They provided only soap, and the bedsheet wasn’t clean.

The hotel is close to the station, which made getting around easy, and receptionist Manpreet was the only person who listened and tried to make our stay smoother. The building looks fine at first, but the hygiene and upkeep were terrible. The pillows and bed covers were stained, gutka covers were left beside the bed, and bathroom fittings that looked okay didn’t work once we tried to use them. Staff would clean when asked, but they need training: someone carried a toilet brush outside our room without a cover, and they seemed to clean with only a broom and mop, without a room-cleaning hygiene kit. The sheets, towels, and carpet outside the rooms all need attention. We ended up here for two nights after Avista hotels denied our booking because of overbooking. A sardarji arranged this place for the same price, but the rooms were worse than they looked. We were first put in a room for a day while they fixed the bathroom in the four-bed suite we had booked. We extended by one more day for personal reasons and were charged 1500 per room, with no water. Avoid the corner rooms, too, since bus stand horns kept going all day and gave us a headache. There was no hot water or geyser. Apparently people in Amritsar don’t use hot water. Tea wasn’t available early in the morning, even at 8am, and tea or coffee orders took at least 30 minutes. Breakfast was limited to Paranthas or chole kulche, and took about 45 minutes to arrive. They didn’t offer a free water bottle each day. Whenever we raised an issue, they said that was all they could do. We had to stay here because of our situation, but I wouldn’t suggest it.
