Hotel Anchit - Walking Distance To Golden Temple

We arrived late at night with an advance booking for two rooms for two nights, only to find that Hotel Anchit had given our rooms to someone else. The staff were rude and unprofessional, and at night they were completely unresponsive, as if they were asleep or simply unwilling to help. We were left stranded without proper assistance. I strongly advise against booking here. There are better options nearby with responsible management and professional service.

We signed up for three nights. The staff were polite before we paid the advance, then became very rude. They didn’t give us a key for one room and gave it to somebody else for a few hours. They shut down the lift and the hot water boilers, saying the electricity wasn’t theirs, and asking who wanted hot water in this temperature. We had to fight to get them working. The reception controlled the AC and switched it off at the mains around midnight. We asked staff to clean, but they never came, and the rooms stayed untidy for all three days. The staff had rubbish to say about some things and made him shout. I regret booking here. Don’t book if you want peace of mind on vacation.
