The breakfast had plenty of fresh choices, and the location made it easy to explore amritsar. My room was spotless and modern, with one of the most comfortable beds I've slept in. From check-in onward, the staff were warm and attentive, and a special thanks to office boy for doing so much to make my stay memorable. I had a wonderful time at makkar hotel and would stay again.

The room itself was clean, but the bedsheets hadn't been changed. We paid for three people and got a mattress with no sheet or pillow. They first refused a blanket, then gave us a dirty one after a long discussion. Drinking water cost 20 per bottle. They quoted 2200 for the room, but after bargaining we got it for 1300, so it's worth negotiating.

The lift and TV seem to be there just for show because neither works. There are no cupboards, and the room has no view.

Don't go there unless you want to waste your time and money and spoil your trip and mood. This is the worst hotel I've ever seen.
