Hotel City Castle Prime

Hotel City Castle was a fantastic experience for me. The rooms were well appointed and the atmosphere was great, with comfort and quality at a very reasonable price. The staff were friendly and attentive, and their service surpassed what I expected. A deserved five stars!

The rooms smell really bad, and the building is old, the opposite of what the outdated photos suggest. There were cockroaches, the TVs didn't work, and the doors only had one top lock, which wasn't a proper lock. One of the filthiest rooms I've ever stayed in.

We came to Amritsar to visit the Golden Temple and only needed somewhere to rest for a few hours. The room was meant to be ready at 7:30 p.m., but we weren't shown one until nearly 9. It was the wrong room too: we'd booked a King Bed Room but were taken to a Queen Bed Room. The rooms smelled terrible and didn't seem clean or hygienic. When we raised this, the staff weren't apologetic or understanding. They said our deposit wouldn't be refunded and that we could check out if we wanted. We left without staying because of the room condition and even worse customer service. Don't trust the pictures. They are false advertising, and the rooms look nothing like them.

The rooms are nice and clean, and both the service and food are really good. Golden Temple is about a 10-minute walk, and the airport is roughly 30 minutes away. During peak holidays, expect to wait 15 minutes for the breakfast buffet if you arrive late. I've stayed at other Hotel City Castle locations, and this one is just as good.
