The room had cockroaches and an uncomfortable hard bed, and room service wasn’t good. The food was 101% bad. Breakfast was just bread and tea, with no choice. I wonder if the five-star reviews were written by hotel staff. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

There were eight of us friends staying in three rooms in the last week of December 2018. The rooms were very clean, and we were comfortable. Staff were polite and the service was very good. Food prices were moderate, and the geysers worked properly whenever we needed them. A decent budget hotel.

We had a really bad experience with the management. The head manager was rude, and the cleaning staff were both rude and not good at their job. At checkout, we were charged an unreasonable amount for bread and butter, which wasn’t listed on the menu. I didn’t like the way the place was managed at all.

The only real downside is the location, a bit outside Guwahati and far from the main market. Otherwise, everything was fine. The food was great, the service was good overall, and the staff were friendly.

Queen Casa is tucked behind ISBT, with well-furnished, well-kept rooms, good parking, and a comfortable setup for families. Oyo also deserves credit for helping travellers find hotels in out-of-the-way places that might otherwise go unnoticed. The receptionists were generous and humble. The hotel was safe for unmarried and married couples when booked through Oyo, too. Room service could improve, though the place was new at the time, so I thought it might get better. I didn’t try the complimentary breakfast on my first visit, but expected it would be up to standard. I did try the coffee, and it was excellent, though of course that depends on who makes it. I came back a year later, on 2 October 2019, with very high expectations. This time I’d give it three stars, partly out of loyalty to Queen Casa. It was sad to see how much the room quality had declined. The room was much too cramped for the price. The owner might say a ₹1000 room is fine at that size, but I booked through the Oyo app at a listed price of ₹1500, using a referral code, Oyo money, and an Oyo discount. For a room priced that way, what I got was very, very congested. The coffee was still just as good, and room service was prompt. What really touched me was that, as we were checking out, one of the boys arranged breakfast for us.
