It’s close to the Golden Temple, so you can walk there for darshan, though the hotel is down a small gali and may be hard to find. The washroom was big and nice, a definite plus. The rooms are just okay, and it seems the property hasn’t been renovated in many years.

The staff were very rude. We clearly told reception at check-in that we’d check out at 2 pm the next day, but the hotel in-charge made us leave at 11 am. The rooms smelled damp, and no toilet essentials were provided. I paid by card but wasn’t given a tax GST invoice. Tax ke choori.

The property is a decent size and easy to reach, very close to the main market, but it’s badly managed and maintained. The walls were only partly painted, with spider webs, stains and marks, and the bedding was untidy. There were even spiders on our bed. After check-in, we asked for the room and toilet to be cleaned, but staff told us, “don't look into small details.” We’re paying for every minute of our stay. The hotel administration should visit its own rooms and make sure they meet a basic standard of cleanliness.

After darshan, we booked a room that evening for one night, but the tariff felt high for what the room offered. The towels were dirty, there was no soap or bathing gel, and no kettle or tea and coffee bags. They even charged us for one water bottle, which we usually get complimentary at other decent properties. The bell boys were very slow to help with our luggage.
