The best part of staying at Ranjit's Svaasa was the warmth and hospitality. We heard stories about Ranjit, the owner of this bungalow, from the staff, and the home-cooked food was excellent. Prabhjot was incredibly helpful and looked after every need. They arranged two amazing guides for our tours and helped make some offbeat visits in Amritsar happen. We stayed three nights in spacious rooms full of character, with huge windows overlooking the courtyard and very large bathrooms.

The ground floor has rooms set up as a library, lounge and drawing room, and the courtyard is lovely. You can have breakfast cooked right in front of you on a wood-fired sigdi. The place is full of old-world trinkets, which add to its royal feel. The location and upkeep are excellent, and the smiling, helpful staff are the best part of the experience. One of the best boutique hotels I’ve stayed at, and a wonderful stay in Amritsar.

I’ve stayed here twice now, and the attentive service is very good. The rooms have an old-fashioned setup with outside locks, so be prepared for that. This family-run haveli feels nothing like one of the big hotel chains. It sits down an alley off Mall Road, right in the middle of town, yet it’s wonderfully quiet and peaceful. The gorgeous buildings are full of old photos, unique art and artifacts. They serve delicious home-cooked meals made to order for dinner and breakfast, and there’s a small spa.

The food was really tasty, and I enjoyed getting to talk over the menu with the owner. The property has lovely architectural details, and the furniture and decorations tell the story of the family owners. I agree with what so many other reviews have said.
