Hotel Sapthagiri Balla

Hot water was available in the bathroom in the morning, but not for drinking. Room service was ridiculously bad, and they don’t seem to like guests who booked online. I stayed about three hours past checkout and had to pay a full day’s rent, with only Rs. 200 taken off in the end. Very bad experience.

As a solo traveler, I had two peaceful nights here and would stay again. When I messaged the caretaker on WhatsApp about mosquitoes yesterday, he quickly sent a vapouriser, so the service was prompt. It’s an old hotel, not one of the new, swanky places. That does mean the rooms are spacious, and the washrooms are comfortable too, without the commodes squeezed into little cubicles.

I checked in this evening and booked a suite. The room is decent, neat, and clean, and the staff are good. There’s no complimentary breakfast, but the restaurant serves very tasty food. It’s a bit expensive, though the quality and quantity aren’t compromised. I’ll share a complete review after the rest of my stay and checkout. The hotel is right in the heart of town, and although it’s under construction right now, the service is good. The staff are friendly and helpful. There’s no attached restaurant, but there’s a small place to eat just outside. Rooms are neat and clean, and the toilets are spacious and clean too. Parking is small but decent.
