Fairfield by Marriott Goa Anjuna

I wouldn’t recommend Fairfield by Marriott Anjuna at this price. Choosing a Marriott, I expected consistent service and a professional welcome, but this stay fell below basic expectations and felt worse than budget hotels I’ve used. Check-in was slow and poorly run, with little courtesy. We felt like an inconvenience, and things didn’t improve: staff response, room readiness, and coordination were all disappointing. Requests were delayed or handled badly. Check-out brought the same slow, indifferent, unprofessional service. The experience never justified the premium rate. There are better value options in Anjuna.

The only thing I’d change is the bathroom lighting. We had a spotless, spacious room with the amenities we needed, including fast Wi-Fi and blackout curtains, and the breakfast had plenty of delicious variety. Thanks to the restaurant team, sabaji harshad, rajat, ricky, laxman and team. The location made sightseeing easy, with the main attractions just a few minutes away on foot. Staff made us feel at home, especially the friendly receptionist who made us a map. I can’t fault the place otherwise and would happily return.

This was our second stay at fairfield marriott in four months. Annon at the front desk helped with our bookings both times and is really good at the job. Sonali was always cheerful and smiling there too. Sabaji from food and beverages was incredible and very helpful, always greeting us brightly and checking in on guests. Dhananjay was also excellent, smiling and ready to help. The Head & Executive Chefs came to our table to ask about the food and arrangements, which we hadn’t experienced at another hotel. Housekeeping, room service, cleaning staff, and the pool attendant all did their jobs well. Our room was clean and neatly arranged whenever we came back. The security staff were helpful and smiling too.

We had our first trip with our young one and were excited, but the stay started going wrong on arrival. We’d booked six days because we trusted the Marriott brand and had enjoyed it on other trips. The room was extremely small, with a queen bed that barely seemed enough for two. I don’t understand why they accept family bookings when anyone over 5.8 feet would struggle to sleep on that bed. The hotel is about 3 KM from Arjuna Beach, which is manageable, but the roads in are very narrow. In traffic, you could scrape a roadside wall or a passing vehicle. We try to have our young one asleep by 2100Hrs. At around 2330Hrs, loud music and people chatting and laughing started in the next room. We waited 30 minutes, hoping it would stop, then called reception. Staff got the volume down by 0030Hrs, but soon a large group was talking loudly again. When we called back, reception said they couldn’t get them to listen and offered to move us. That might have worked if I were alone, but moving rooms in the middle of the night with our young one wasn’t an option. The noise went on until 0200 Hrs. We had booked breakfast and dinner. Breakfast had good choices, but dinner was a limited set menu that didn’t feel like a 4 star hotel. The hotel itself was safe: I left my phone by the pool and got it back four hours later after staff found it and left it at reception.
