The Funky Monkey Hostel

The beds were clean and comfortable, and the facilities were great. It was sociable, so I’d recommend it to solo travellers. The staff were amazing and helpful. It was quiet enough to sleep, but you could also have drinks and party. I had a great time.

The staff were the best part of our stay at the funky monkey. They were always around and happy to help with cabs, extending our stay, finding an ATM, or planning where to go next. The hostel really does feel like a jungle among all the palms, and our private double room’s A/C worked perfectly. We also loved the food from the hostel restaurant. We had an amazing time.

The activities the hostel organized made it easy to meet people, and I got to know so many lovely travelers there. I spent a couple of days and had an amazing time. The staff seemed like travelers themselves and spent lots of time with guests while still providing good service. As a solo traveler, I’d absolutely recommend it, and I’d come back.

I only meant to stay a short time at Funky Monkey, but I loved it so much that I kept extending. The place has a warm, welcoming, easygoing social feel, and the common area makes it simple to meet people through all the events and activities. The staff felt like old friends by the time I left. It’s well placed for getting around Anjuna on foot or by ride, while still being quiet when you want to relax. The food was tasty and convenient, especially on lazy days. For me, it’s about as close to a perfect hostel as you can get. Hands down the best one I’ve stayed at, and I can’t recommend it enough.
