Fireflies Kabini

The rough, pebbly track after leaving the main road made the drive in unpleasant, and that road could use work. Once there, though, we had a relaxing stay. The spacious grounds were good for unwinding, and the cottages were clean, maintained, and had the basics. Staff were polite and helpful, and the buffet had a decent range of good food. The location is a big plus. The cottage views over the Kabini backwaters are beautiful, and a walk of about a kilometre through open fields takes you to the river, where you can sit quietly. The resort is also close to the Kakanakote safari gate. We had a great time and would recommend it.

The food was outstanding, and the staff were warm and attentive, doing more than expected to make the stay memorable. We also found the rooms spacious and elegant, with top-class amenities and real comfort. The property and its surroundings were breathtaking, and the facilities were beautifully kept. A blend of luxury, comfort, and great service that we'd highly recommend.

Service was the worst part by far. During booking, Fireflies never said visitors couldn't come onto the property. When we were about to leave, they refused to let my friend in for five minutes. I asked to see a policy, but there wasn't one. Refusing entry is one thing, but the staff were rude about it, which was disgusting. The place also felt underwhelming for the price. The property and rooms looked much bigger in the photos, and the pool felt more like an XL jacuzzi. Food was average at best, and at breakfast the previous night's dirty plates were still piled up in the restaurant. The last stretch of road was in terrible shape, barely a real road. Decent property, pathetic service. I wouldn't recommend it at this price.

The buffet had a great spread and lots of flavors, and the riverfront views were unforgettable. We also loved how clean and hygienic our beautiful room was, with a landscaped garden right outside that was lovely for a walk, a cycle, or just relaxing. The staff were friendly and courteous from the moment we arrived, and made us feel welcome. A wonderful stay.
