The Surf Wala team made me feel safe as a solo woman traveler, and the people there are what made my trip memorable. They were kind, kept me company, skated around the bar with me, and shared tips on the best local food. Ava’s surf lessons were amazing. Her knowledge and practical advice helped me build confidence both in and out of the water. I especially recommend her to women who’d like an instructor who understands some of the challenges of learning to surf as a woman. The team’s genuine hospitality turned a regular trip into something meaningful. Goa is beautiful, but the people here made the experience. If you want warmth and connection along with a beach vacation, Surf Wala is the place. Until next time!

I stayed six nights and would absolutely come back. It’s a small place with a big personality, and the atmosphere feels like walking into a hug. Everyone made me feel genuinely welcome. My room was spacious, clean, and tastefully designed. The owners were incredibly responsive and generous, and the food and drinks were delicious. It’s just two minutes down a path to the beach. I didn’t take surf lessons, but I’d have trusted them completely if I had. A lovely hidden gem if you don’t know to look for it. Highly recommend!

If you enjoy surfing, the ocean, and being around kind, happy people, COME HERE!!! The service and rooms are excellent, and I’ve never felt so at home while traveling solo. It’s a little gem in India, and skipping it when you’re in Goa would be a big mistake. One visit was enough to make me a customer for life 😊 So thankful I went and had this experience. Thank you, surf Wala and the amazing staff.

My friend suggested Surf Wala, and I really enjoyed staying there. I was a shy solo traveler, so it was nice when the bar staff welcomed me and invited me to play pool. The rooms were clean, air conditioned, and just right for what I needed. I also asked about laundry and they offered the service on site. It was very cheap, did a great job, and my clothes came back the next morning. I hadn’t seen it advertised anywhere. Being a surf school, it’s very close to the beach, with markets on both sides that are fun to wander around. The surf lessons were the highlight. Shin taught my first lesson and broke the pop up into simple, easy steps. Ava taught the second, and her love of surfing made learning fun. Both were exceptionally good instructors. I’d definitely recommend them!

Neha helped sort out my stay and lesson slot, and I loved her vibe. I spent three days doing a surfing course with accommodation at Surf Wala in Goa, and had an amazing time. It’s neat and clean, with a cool restaurant and café, and the staff are friendly and polite. The surfing sessions were great too. My instructor Francisco, an excellent surfer from Portugal, made it easy and fun to learn. A 10/10 place, highly recommended.
