A local suggested this family-run restaurant when we were looking for authentic food. It seats around 30-40 people. We had the veg thali and chose fried king fish for the fish thali. It was delicious, with fish curry, vegetables and payasam served alongside. The others ordered fried pomfret and calamari, and everything was amazing.

The food was really good, homestyle and not too oily, and the prices were very reasonable. We tried the veg thali and Bombil fry. Better food than at any fancy restaurant.

The prawns and shinaneo were very good, though the thali was just average. What spoiled lunch for me was how badly they handled the wait on a busy Sunday when every table was occupied. A group of 13 men were allowed to stand inside, circling occupied tables they thought might free up. One sat in a nearby guest's seat while he was washing his hands, without asking, and another tried to take a seat at our table. A woman later asked if she could share our table, and I said I wasn't comfortable with it. It's hard to enjoy a meal with people hovering over you, waiting for you to finish. I've eaten at plenty of busy places with waiting lists, but staff here even asked people to sit at tables that would “empty soon,” although those guests were willing to wait outside. The lack of basic crowd control and consideration for people already seated made the experience extremely uncomfortable.

The fish curry and fried seafood were the highlights, and everything tasted fresh, flavorful and homemade. The portions were generous, and I found the seafood thali really satisfying and comforting. I'd happily come back.

I tried the Prawn Fish Thali and Chonak Fish Thali, both generous and well-balanced with traditional Goan flavors. The Mussels Rava Fry and Squid Rava Fry were fresh and crispy, but the Crab Sukha was my favorite, rich and spiced enough to have me licking my fingers. Lazy Fish Restaurant in Baga feels relaxed and has a clear homely touch to the food. The chef is also the owner and seems passionate about home cooking. As a food blogger looking for local gems, I was won over by the authenticity and flavor. The place was clean, the staff friendly, and the setting peaceful and simple. There was Wi-Fi and high chairs too. If you're in North Goa and want authentic Goan seafood at honest prices, it's a great choice. I'm definitely going back.
