Niraamaya Retreats Samroha Athirappilly

I loved the setting beside Chalakudy river, near Athirapally waterfalls, with a small valley all around. My presidential suite was spacious, airy, and bright, and I tried several delicious, authentic Kerala dishes. Service was prompt, and the staff were polite, understanding, and ready to help. The GM Devansh was always on the floor checking that guests were having a good experience. On my last day, the team set up a lovely separate dinner table for me and gave me a handmade card. Thank you, Devansh, Sinto, Midhun, Meena, Rahul, Kirut, and everyone whose name I’ve forgotten. The Ayurveda program was a disappointment. I signed up for seven days, but two were ruined by spa therapists who seemed amateur and struggled to understand English. The issue was eventually resolved, though I didn’t feel the program itself offered any particular value. Still, I had a relaxing staycation and a great time overall.

We had all three meals at the resort, and the food was excellent every time. Everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and comforting, better than I expected from a resort restaurant. Hats off to the chef and his team. The restaurant servers were attentive too, especially Mr. Murad. The evening tea service is excellent, and I’d recommend having it with a view of the falls. The executive room was clean, modern-looking, and spacious, with an excellent bathroom. My only discomforts were that the bed wasn’t long enough for me to stretch out fully without part of my leg hanging over, and the air conditioning could be better. Occasional power cuts switched the AC off, and we had to turn it back on manually. Every staff member provided excellent service, which made the stay comfortable and peaceful. The waterfalls are visible from the hotel, and it’s a good green getaway within a short trip from Kochi and Thrissur.

The restaurant food was delicious and good quality, and the staff were courteous and friendly throughout our one-night visit. A special thanks to General Manager Mr. Devansh Jain. Seeing that my parents, who are over 70, might find the walk up to the cottages difficult, he arranged a first-floor room in the main building. That made getting to the restaurant much easier for them, and his thoughtfulness and concern meant a lot. Highly recommend!

Midhun was especially kind and attentive to what we liked and asked for. Manager Mr. Devansh was hands-on throughout, and the hospitality was wonderful. The hotel is in a beautiful spot, with a mesmerizing view of the waterfall and riverside. I’d love to come back.
