Atali Ganga Cottages

Kayaking and the visit to the secluded beach were the highlights for us. The experiences more than made up for food that could have tasted a little better. Our two days at Atali were calm and peaceful, and Sunita made us feel especially welcome. It was a blissful, memorable stay.

The first thing I saw each morning was a green mountain view, and that made the room feel like a 5/5 for me, even though I’d otherwise give it 4/5. The location gets 5/5 if you’re looking for peace, and the food does too. I’d go with full board and you shouldn’t have any problems. There’s no in-room service, and it’s a lot of stairs up and down to the restaurant. If you have knee trouble, that could be a concern. I was traveling with my 4 1/2-month-old daughter, and the staff picked up on what we needed without us having to explain, then helped us out. If there’s an issue, Tanya will try to sort it out. Anjali deserves a mention too, she’s young but understands what people need.

Facing the mountains and the Ganga river was a lovely part of my stay at Atali Ganga. The hotel is a bit away from Rishikesh’s busy center, which gave me a calm, comfortable place to rest after full days out. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and made the visit really pleasant. I’d recommend it to anyone after a quiet, comfortable stay in Rishikesh.

Hi Tanya, I can't seem to reply in your thread, so I'm responding here. Thanks for getting back to me. I still feel the compensation was fair, and there were other things I hadn't wanted to bring up. But since we're talking about it, here's what I mean. The stairs were difficult for the staff, as you said, but imagine how hard they were for my elderly mom and dad. I understand that not every property suits everyone, and I’m okay with the prices. Still, even at other 5-star hotels I haven’t found food prices to be a problem, because the portions were reasonable. Atali is a 3-star resort, so I’m still wondering why its food costs are almost at 5-star levels. The serving sizes were disappointing, my goodness. And ma’am, since when does hi-tea mean just tea and biscuits? I think we’re all grown up enough to know what high teas are. Just being honest. Regards
