OYO 8997 Angeethi Hotel

Both rooms and bathrooms were clean, and I’d consider staying here again in Aurangabad if stairs aren’t an issue for me or my guests. The lack of a lift is a real drawback: reception is on the first floor, above a double-height ground floor, and it was hard for my aunt, who was over 75, to climb up. We managed, though. I booked two rooms for the night of 29th July, 2019. When we arrived at 1:30pm, one room wasn’t ready. The lady on duty was helpful and arranged two rooms on the same floor, 202 and 208. We ate lunch in the ground-floor restaurant. The food was decent and service quick, though the prices were a little high. The TV connection in 208 wasn’t working. The staff member on shift from 4pm wasn’t helpful after I reported it. When the night staff came in, he agreed to move us to another room on the same floor to solve the problem. In 202, the toilet seat and sink taps were loose, which made it seem the hotel wasn’t doing quick repairs between guests. There was also a half-meter-high step into the bathroom. I hope management takes these problems seriously and fixes them.

We only stayed one night, but the room smelled bad and the management needs to maintain the rooms. Staff asked for money in advance for everything, as though they didn’t trust us. We booked through OYO, then learned the hotel no longer worked with them. After calls to OYO, we did get a room. The receptionist also told us upfront that the TV wouldn’t work.

The rooms, sheets and washrooms were clean, and parking was available. The rooms were smaller than the photos suggested, and even though we checked in three hours late, they still weren’t ready, so we had to wait. We had to ask for towels and toiletries, which OYO rooms should have ready for guests. The map display shows the restaurant, while the hotel entrance is through the alley on the left. There’s no sign pointing to the reception on the first floor. One room’s TV dish wasn’t recharged, and the ceiling leaked. We also had trouble with the electronic door locks, though that was resolved.

The washroom was clean, and the stay was good apart from a few things. The bottle they gave us wasn’t sealed, and the complimentary breakfast wasn’t hot. They said they’d email the bill receipt but didn’t, so I had to call Oyo customer care. The linen had been washed, though it wasn’t very white.
