We booked well ahead of our Ayodhya visit. One room was reserved online, and when we asked about adding another, staff confidently said they had secured two rooms for us and no further online booking was needed. On the day we arrived, while travelling from Prayagraj to Ayodhya, they sent a different location to my WhatsApp. When I called, they said they couldn’t host us at the booked hotel because roads were closed that day. They gave no warning until the last minute, despite having accepted the booking. Instead, they sent us to Hotel R L Palace, under the same ownership, which was much farther away and of inferior quality. The rooms were damp and had mosquitoes, and the place didn’t feel secure. I had chosen the original hotel for its location and lift, as my mother is elderly. They moved us without any prior verbal discussion to a hotel with no lift. When I challenged the decision by phone, the staff were rude and showed no sense of responsibility.

I saw families arguing with staff over the same problem we had: confirmed bookings had apparently been sold to other guests, and people were sent to inferior homestays. Please check the Google reviews before booking. Other customers report the same issue. Staff may say they told you the hotel was already sold, but bookings made through sites like Goibibo or MakeMyTrip had already been confirmed. Despite our confirmed reservation, we arrived to find no room available and were forced to move for one night of our multi-day stay. The replacement was a downgrade and nowhere near worth what I’d paid. After I complained to Goibibo, I got my original room for the second night. The owner wouldn’t take calls and preferred that we communicate through staff. When I objected, I was threatened. The room I was first given smelled bad, and its bathroom was in poor repair. The drain was clogged, leaving the floor flooded. Requests for help were ignored or met with hostility. Staff and management were disrespectful, with offensive language and insults. The rooms were being overbooked and resold for extra money, and the hotel seemed to put profit ahead of guests. This was the worst hotel experience of my life. I strongly advise against staying here unless you’re prepared for a financially and emotionally awful experience.

The room TV didn’t work. When I told the manager, he said it was an electronic device and nothing could be done. He said he’d call a technician, but nobody came. At checkout, I asked for help with my luggage and called the manager, but no staff showed up. There was also an uncomfortable incident when I returned from sightseeing in Ayodhya around 7:00 PM on the second day. The manager stopped me at reception and claimed four people were staying although the booking was for three. He hadn’t checked the records. I showed him my booking details, and he fell silent. It felt embarrassing and unprofessional. I’d paid ₹2239 in full for the first day. Check-in was listed as 12:00 AM, and I’d told the property in advance that I was coming from Varanasi via Prayagraj and expected to arrive around 11:30 PM. Travel delays meant I got there at about 1:00 AM. I then spent nearly 30 minutes at reception arguing with the manager, who insisted checkout had to be at 11:00 AM. He refused my polite request for a one-hour extension until noon, so I had to book and pay for an entire extra day. The staff, especially the manager, were rude and uncooperative. The constant questioning and lack of help made for a very poor experience. I wouldn’t recommend this property unless its service improves.

We arrived to find that the room we’d booked through the portal wasn’t available, even though the owner had already taken full payment. There was no proper explanation or apology. Instead, we were shown a different room that wasn’t listed on the booking site and was unhygienic, very poor quality, and far below what had been promised. The owner was rude and unprofessional, and didn’t seem interested in resolving the matter. Our requests for the proper room or a refund were brushed aside. It felt like customers were being misled and charged under false promises. Practices like this damage trust. I strongly advise others to avoid the hotel so they don’t end up as disappointed as we were.

We saw good rooms listed on Goibibo, but when we arrived, we were told to go to another property managed by Ramansh. The manager said there were problems at the booked property and told us to cancel. Ramansh was a cheap lodge with no lift. We climbed three floors to find a tiny, dirty room. It was the worst experience, and I wouldn’t book this hotel if you want a comfortable trip.
