Narayan Palace Hotel

The food was just okay, so you may want to eat on the way to Badrinath. After the long journey from Kedarnath, though, Narayan Palace was an excellent relief for me and my family. The rooms were large and squeaky clean, there was continuous hot water, and the service was amazing. I highly recommend it for families.

The food was very bad, and the coffee and tea were powder milk drinks that they charged too much for. There was no coffee maker. They also had no sitting or sleeping area for drivers, and even refused to give the driver a blanket. In the minus temperatures, the room water was extremely cold, and there was no geyser or room heater. The manager, JP Mishra, and the staff were disrespectful and didn’t understand how important guest comfort is, especially for families with little kids. A very negative experience. Better to avoid this hotel.

The manager was friendly and helpful, even guiding us and arranging temple darshan. Our rooms were well insulated against the cold outside, and the food was good too. We had a very pleasant stay and would definitely recommend it.

Mishraji deserves a special mention for being so friendly. This was the first hotel built in Badrinath, in 1994-95, and Amitabh Bachchan had also visited. Still, it lacks amenities and needs renovation for current hotel needs, including room heaters and a tea or coffee maker.
