Chitvan Jungle Lodge

Bhuri was a wonderful naturalist. He made sure we saw as much of the jungle as we could, including tigers. The food was very tasty too, especially the Kheer, and it's sourced from local farmers or grown onsite. Our suite in the Kahna buffer zone was large, nicely decorated, well equipped, and well looked after by housekeeping. Surendra, Prakash, Praveen, and the whole front office were fantastic, helping with everything from general guidance to restaurant service. All the staff were kind and courteous, which made us feel especially welcome. There is a lot to recommend here. Anyone interested in India safaris should come for an unforgettable experience! K.

The lodge makes it easy to enjoy Kanha without worrying about the safari details. We got timely wake-up calls and packed refreshments, and everything from guide coordination to park entry ran smoothly. That kind of organisation makes a real difference, especially for photographers and wildlife enthusiasts. I spent 4 nights at Chitvan Jungle Lodge on a wildlife photography trip. Between drives, the peaceful, green grounds were a lovely place to unwind, review photos, or listen to the forest. The rooms are a little dated beside newer luxury resorts, but they were clean and comfortable. Their rustic feel fits the jungle setting better than a generic hotel would. The staff were warm and genuinely helpful with special requests. General Manager Mr. Rachit Singh was hands-on and attentive to guest comfort, and it shows in how well the lodge is run. Food was another highlight, with several fresh, flavourful options at each meal and a good mix of Indian and continental dishes, just what you want after long drives. Chitvan Jungle Lodge balances comfort, efficient safari management, and an authentic forest experience. I'd happily recommend it to photographers, families, and nature lovers visiting Kanha, and hope to return.

The safari memories will stay with us for a lifetime. With Mr. Bhuri Singh Ji, we saw DJ9, the daughter of the iconic DJ tigress, chase a jackal. She didn't catch it, but watching the 4-year-old tigress show such power and agility was unforgettable. The next morning, her father, the legendary DB3, walked through the jungle at 8 years old, majestic and unbothered, like a king. The lodge also gave us the calm we needed to get away from city life. We were four people, surrounded by nature and away from television, internet, social media, and even mobile networks. Our huge Mahasagar Suite had two spacious bedrooms, each with an attached washroom, a comfortable living room, and a lovely shared sitting area outside. It was thoughtfully designed, and we loved it. The property is beautifully maintained, and recent renovations have added to it without losing its vintage character. The care at Chitvan Jungle Lodge was beyond what we'd imagined. They treated us like family, packing breakfast for early game drives, providing blankets and hot water bags for chilly safaris, and preparing customised lunches and dinners. General Manager Mr. Rachit Singh spent time with us, checked that we were comfortable, and made us feel part of the Chitvan family. We had a wonderful stay and felt connected, cared for, and alive in the heart of nature.

A lovely setting and peaceful atmosphere, with tasty buffets and caring, friendly staff. The rooms and property are very well maintained. One tip: don't follow Google navigation or take the road just ahead of Mukki gate. There's a good road a few kilometres before, follow the boards along the road.
