Aeon Hotel

The worst accommodation experience I’ve ever had, in India or anywhere else. I checked out moments after arriving, without unpacking. Just standing there with my luggage made me feel filthy, and I’d rather sleep on a train platform in the middle of the night than stay in that room. Calling it a hotel feels like an insult to hospitality, and charging for it is staggering. The bathroom had a thick, nauseating sewer smell, like a drainage line that hadn’t been cleared in years. Opening the door made me gag, and breathing the air felt unsafe. The room itself seemed like an ecosystem of pests: the mattress was crawling, with what looked like a marching army of bed bugs under the sheet, and cockroaches of different sizes moved across the floor and walls. Cleanliness seemed nonexistent. The sheets were yellowed and frayed, with disturbing stains I didn’t inspect closely. The cushions felt sticky and caked in years of grime and sweat, while the walls had spills, dirt marks and what looked like old squashed bugs. It was a nightmare. Avoid booking unless sleeping among pests and breathing sewage fumes sounds appealing.
