Hotel 12 Degrees West EGL

The staff were rude, and even breakfast and basic amenities weren’t properly provided. The rooms and hotel also felt poorly maintained and not clean enough. For what it cost, the service was nowhere near worth it, especially for a place calling itself 3-star. I left feeling I’d wasted my money and wouldn’t recommend Treebo.

The bedsheets were dirty, and the room phone didn’t work. The receptionist said only a few phones had been connected, which makes having one in the room seem pointless. We also had to sort out breakfast elsewhere: although it was included for two, at 9:30 a.m. there was food for just one person, and they wouldn’t prepare anything for the second guest. We’d been told late checkout up to two hours was allowed subject to availability. When I mentioned in advance that we might be half an hour late, the receptionist said nothing about a charge. But when we were leaving, just half an hour past the official checkout, she insisted we pay extra. The service was disappointing from the start: there was only one towel for two of us, and no tea or coffee sachets. Staff said the packets had expired and the new order hadn’t arrived. Treebo can certainly do better.

The reception and dining area looked lovely, but the room was missing toiletries, pillows and the AC remote. I booked through the Treebo app for the night of 5th May and paid 2300. The experience felt worth barely 400. Treebo said late checkout until 1 p.m. was free, yet the receptionist charged me 500. I paid because I had a flight to catch.

The place had a homely feel, and the staff, management and room were all lovely. I’m non-vegetarian, but still enjoyed the veg food. I was lucky to get Bengali-style dishes like aloobhaja, plain dal and aloofulcopir torkari. I was very happy with my stay at treebo 12 degree and hope to visit again.
