Hotel Chetan International by OYO Rooms

They charged extra at checkout, giving irrelevant reasons and asking for more than they should. The staff behaved very badly. Please don't stay here.

We showed up for our two-day November booking through Agoda, but the hotel wouldn't honor it. The receptionist calmly told us to contact Agoda and say they wouldn't give us a room. First they said the hotel had no tie-up with Agoda. Then another staff member said they'd canceled the booking as soon as it came through, and blamed Agoda for not telling us. One of those accounts had to be untrue. While we called Agoda to sort it out, staff carried on as two exhausted travellers tried to work out where to go. Neighbors said the hotel had long been known for treating customers indifferently and inhospitably. VBR GrandInn in the next lane came to our rescue, and was much better for a similar price.

The rooms were clean, but there was nowhere to put luggage or other things, and no clothes stand in the room or bathroom. We ended up taking two plastic chairs from the canteen area to use. It's hard to manage wet towels and used items without any space. These are basic needs even in a room that's not executive level. Guests shouldn't have to put towels or clothes on the toilet washbasin. I hope management addresses this.

The staff members were polite and nice, but the hotel itself wasn't comfortable. I paid Rs 1000 more than the regular price because I went directly instead of checking their website first. The room smelled bad, the sheets had stains, and cockroaches were crawling around. The bathroom wasn't tidy either. The shower head looked like it hadn't seen cleaning products since 1947. This was my first and last stay, and I wouldn't recommend it.
