Octave Church Inn

I stayed for three days and paid approximately 1100 per day for an executive room. The room was small, barely leaving space to move around the bed, and didn’t look like the website or Google photos. They should lower the price or improve the amenities to match it. The hygiene was poor, with cockroaches crawling around, occasional mosquitoes, and rusty rods and handles. The doors and cupboards were broken, the sink didn’t work properly, and the commode was strange. The geyser didn’t work, though reception quickly brought hot water in a bucket, which helped. The bed was fine, and the AC, light, and fan worked. The TV didn’t, and the lift felt strange and spooky. There was no drinking water, towel, or toiletries such as soap or a toothbrush. There was only liquid bath soap in the toilet and no attached restaurant. Since it’s on Church Street, autos aren’t permitted there, so you have to walk to the main road to get one.

There’s nothing positive I can say. The entrance was awful, the lift felt scary and spooky, and the furniture and switchboards were broken. Spider webs covered the walls, cockroaches were crawling around, and the curtains were torn. This hotel needs a renovation, or it should be demolished.

This was my third time staying here. The price is reasonable, the service is good, and I like the location, so I come back whenever I’m in Bangalore. But the room smells strongly of fungus, and the toilet seat is very old and looks like one in a bus stop public toilet. The executive room looks nice in the photos, but the real room was a letdown. They should replace the toilet seat and paint the room. Otherwise, it’s good.

We were staying as a family, but they wouldn’t even let us visit each other’s rooms. The worst hotel. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. Don’t stay here.
