Olive Hotel MG Road Dunsvirk Inn by Embassy Group

I’d stayed here more than 15 times because of the location, but I won’t be coming back. This time I was first given room 106, which smelled awful and was well below average. The manager said there were no other rooms and asked me to upgrade to a suite. The extra charge was added to my bill, but that suite was terrible too, with poor quality and dirty amenities. The rooms and everything else seem badly neglected. Even the photos shown are of a suite room. Sad to have to write this as a regular customer.

We found a great deal through Agoda. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the bathroom setup was good. It seems like a good option for a longer stay too. The 24-hour check-in and check-out is useful for everyone.

We stayed for two nights and had a lovely time. After our early check-in, they made a room available as soon as we arrived and didn’t charge us for the few extra hours. We were exhausted from travelling, so that was a real relief. The staff were very nice, especially the woman at reception in the morning.

I stayed here last month, and the payment handling has been a very disappointing mess. At check-in, staff said my earlier payment hadn’t come through and asked me to pay for two to three nights upfront. To avoid trouble, I paid again. The next morning my team sent the receipt showing that the first payment had gone through. Staff acknowledged the mistake and said the extra payment would be refunded within 48 hours. That was 25 days ago. I’ve made over 20 follow-up calls and spoken to several people, from the receipting team to the territory manager. Every time, I’m told it’s being processed and to wait three to four days, but there’s still no refund. I called again today, and now they say it may happen by 15th March. Mistakes happen, but management has shown no ownership, urgency, or responsibility toward the customer. The hotel may look good from the outside, but service and accountability behind the scenes matter much more. I’ll update this review if the refund comes through. For now, this has been very disappointing.
