Nobody was around at the hotel. They told me to collect the key from reception, and there was no one there at checkout either. The rooms smelled awful, worse than a railway station, and there was no drinking water. When I asked, they told me to get it from Blikit.
The rooms in the photos bear little resemblance to what you actually get. I’d already paid through the OYO app, but the hotel lady flat out said they wouldn’t honor that booking because they didn’t agree with OYO’s price. She told us to book directly instead. My friend and I were desperate, so we went ahead: they quoted 800 per night for stays longer than two days, or 1000 for one night. For that money, the rooms felt like a low-class PG, and they didn’t even give us a water bottle. Power was out all night, so we slept in the heat with mosquitoes. There’s no generator, despite the price and poor service. In the area, I’d look for a PG instead, or find a better hotel farther away around Janapriya or Kirloskar. I found the money they charge exploitative, taking advantage of people who are stuck.
Mosquitoes everywhere, enough to give you dengue, and the surroundings are dirty. The entrance stinks too. Don’t trust the photos, the place is bad. There’s no power backup, no hot water when the power’s out, and towels only if you ask. Breakfast comes from a nearby restaurant, and the auto drivers rip you off. A big, big no from me. Not sure why OYO lists hotels like this. Zero out of five.
The location is easy to reach, close to a metro station and various POIs, and the rooms are spacious with sensible things to make a stay comfortable. Staff were friendly and cooperative, management was good, and service was very good. The price felt unbelievable. I visited in February 2015, and for a visit or business trip to Bangalore, this is a good place to stay. It also felt safe for families.
OYO support helped us shift to another hotel after we called them, and the local police station helped recover the extra money the hotel had charged. Thanks to the police. If you get into trouble, call 112. This was an unhygienic place, and the room photos were false. They didn’t provide AC, hot water, or towels, and even the manager was arrogant. I wouldn’t recommend it for women, children, or business travelers. Zero rating from me.
