Really bad service. The receptionist was irresponsible and didn’t respond.

Really bad service. The receptionist was irresponsible and didn’t respond.
The stay turned out better than I expected, and the service was good for the price. The rooms are roomy and kept clean, with daily cleaning, and the Wi-Fi worked well. Breakfast was included, though they made just one dish for everyone. The hotel and rooms look very different from the pictures, so don’t expect what you see there.
I’d tell everyone to stay away. The staff were rude, and the manager or owner clearly couldn’t handle a calm conversation. When I tried to discuss things rationally, he threatened to beat me up. They first refused to check me in because of problems with the OYO app and told me to pay more. Even after I agreed to cover the difference, the owner or manager raised further issues. This place shouldn’t be operating with staff behaving like that.
For a short stay, the rooms are large and good value. The staff were friendly, check-in went smoothly, and breakfast is complimentary. There were some management issues: the TV package wasn’t active and breakfast choices were limited. The bathroom layout and fittings weren’t pleasant, though they weren’t terrible.
The bathroom setup was frustrating. The shower was in the middle, before the toilet, so every shower left the whole floor wet. The sink pipe leaked, and there was only one bin, in the bathroom. The toiletries smelled great and the bathroom fittings themselves were good quality. Room service was supposedly available around the clock, but it stopped at 10:30 pm. The internet advertised as “high speed” was only 1mbps with a 500 mb limit. For food orders, they didn’t ask us to sign bills, and at checkout they gave us just a total, with no itemized printout to check the charges. They said invoices would come by email, but none had arrived when I wrote this. The room was much smaller than expected. I’d booked a 2x room, which OYO describes as having a living room or balcony, but ours had neither. There was barely room to sit and eat together, with one chair and a small table, and nowhere to put our luggage. I’d called after booking to request a larger room since we had some luggage. They said they had bigger rooms on the 4th or 5th floors, but gave us one on the 2nd. If that was one of the larger ones, I hate to think what the others were like. I could have looked at the room before checking in, but it was 6 in the evening and we were exhausted after a hectic day of moving house, so we didn’t have the energy to find another hotel. It was one of the tiniest rooms I’ve stayed in, like those Mumbai hotels that seem to end almost as soon as they begin. Getting water was another hassle. A restaurant staff member asked for cash for the bottles, even though an earlier person hadn’t, and said paying with cash was hotel policy. I’d wanted to add it to the food bill at checkout. After I sent him back and had to shout at reception to resolve it, he brought only two of the four bottles we’d requested and told us to call reception again for the rest. Breakfast was the biggest letdown. The room menu promised several items, but the first day we got plain uttapam, alu sabji without puri, veg fried rice with nothing to eat it with, bread with butter or jam, a boiled egg, and tea or coffee. On day two it was idli without dosa, sambhar, upma, bread with butter or jam, a boiled egg, and tea or coffee. We were disappointed, ate a few slices of bread, and left. There were some good points. Check-in was smooth and the front office staff were pleasant. The TV had Tata sky with all the channels, including HD, and kept us entertained. The idea behind the townhouse is good, but the experience fell short in many ways. So many promises made the place feel like a letdown.
