The Curzon Court

The booking app listed about ₹900 extra per person, but the room barely had space for another bed. We didn't ask for one, yet checkout included a charge of ₹1082 per day per person for our 11-year-old. With hungry kids in the morning, we also discovered that Anjappar, the first-floor restaurant, doesn't serve breakfast. Breakfast hadn't been mentioned when we booked, so we'd assumed it might be available for a fee. Outside food and non-veg food weren't allowed either, which meant we couldn't order through Zomato. Only a 500 ml water bottle per guest was provided, with no RO water. Another 1-litre bottle cost ₹38 despite a printed MRP of ₹20. The restroom faucet leaked and was messy, and there was a strong cigarette smell when we entered the room. We chose the hotel for a family trip after seeing the positive Google reviews, but the rigid policies, poor maintenance, and lack of basic hospitality made the stay unpleasant. It felt more focused on money than service.

We come back to Curzon Court each year for our bowling tournament, so we're regular guests. With the war situation and airspace closures preventing us from travelling to our destination, I asked about the unused days on our booking. I understood there was a no-refund policy and wasn't asking for a full refund, but hoped for some consideration given the extraordinary circumstances. When I contacted the front office, Malya said no managers were available and nothing could be done. They offered no other contact or way to escalate it, and the exchange felt dismissive and unprofessional. A little empathy and flexibility would mean a lot in a situation like this, especially for returning customers. I'd appreciate management or the owner reviewing the matter and contacting me directly to discuss a resolution.

I stayed in Room 407, and cockroaches were crawling over the bed and furniture. I called the front desk to report it and ask for cleaning or spray, but nobody came to help. The room felt completely infested and unhygienic. There was also a charge of ₹500 when my sister visited for just four hours after her flight was cancelled. Reception insisted I pay by UPI to a personal phone number instead of the hotel's official account. The receipt said "Room Service" and showed no tax, which made me suspect staff were pocketing the money and bypassing the hotel's revenue system. The financial practices seemed highly questionable. Between the pests and what I saw as potential fraud, I can't recommend staying here. I documented it with photos and videos and plan to escalate the matter to the consumer helpline. Avoid this place if hygiene and honesty matter to you.

It's an older property, but it's been kept up nicely and the prices are decent. The metro station is very close, with plenty of restaurants and shopping right beside it. Could work for either a leisure or business stay.
