The Hosteller Bangalore, Koramangala

The staff were the best part, kind, accommodating, and friendly. The location and common spaces also made for a good experience, though the rooms are average and the toilets small. Cleaning was good. The first room I was given felt claustrophobic and smelled bad, but the second was better. It was my first time at Hosteller, and I think a big hostel brand like this could do a lot more to improve.

The rooftop lights were too dim for working and hurt my eyes, so brighter lighting would help. Otherwise, it’s a great, affordable place to stay, with a good location close to everything. The receptionist was very humble, and the stay was pleasant.

Pankaj made a difficult payment situation manageable. He patiently and proactively helped me work through it and clearly cared about finding a solution, rather than brushing me off with “system problem.” Without that help, the experience could have been very negative. The location is excellent for exploring Bangalore or networking in the startup scene, with cafés and coworking spots nearby. The common areas have an energetic, social vibe where it’s easy to meet fellow travelers. But paying is extremely frustrating for foreigners without an Indian bank account or UPI set up. Completing a simple transaction becomes unnecessarily complicated and stressful. For a hostel serving international guests, this needs work. If management fixes the payment friction, I’d recommend the place without hesitation. Until then, be prepared and hope someone like Pankaj is at the desk.

I came for two days and stayed for 15 because the experience was so warm. Mr. Pankaj sir deserves many thanks for making my stay wonderful. The staff treat guests respectfully, speak politely, and are sweet and friendly. They’re understanding, honest, and helpful, which makes you feel welcome like family. Housekeeping keeps the place well maintained, clean, and comfortable. Highly recommended for a pleasant stay in kormangala Bengaluru.
