We had booked online in good faith, but the hotel refused to honor the reservation and kept insisting we cancel it and book directly with them offline. That would have raised the price from what we booked online to 2k. Extremely disappointing. The location wasn’t good either, with a 200-meter walk downhill and a bad view. Worst hotel in Shoja.
We left before checking in because the place felt like it was falling apart. The rooms were dark and dusty, and the hotel seemed to be in a state of decay. Dinner was the one slight positive, but their promise to accommodate a vegan diet was extremely weak. With the crumbling infrastructure and lack of cleanliness, this place was a disaster. Avoid it.
Getting around the location was difficult, with lots of stairs, uneven surfaces, and tricky entrances, so it’s not suitable for elderly people. We appreciated the bed warmers, and the food was amazing during our 3-night stay.
The rooms were neat, and both the location and service were excellent.
We really enjoyed our stay, and the weather was fine. The property is remote up in the mountains, and there are plenty of outdoor stairs exposed to the elements on the way to the rooms.
