Tirthan Riverside Cottage

We had to find somewhere else to stay and can't say whether the property itself would have been good. We booked and fully paid online more than two weeks ahead for three nights, June 9-12. Our taxi driver suggested leaving Jibhi early to avoid traffic, so we called on the way to ask about early check-in or leaving our bags while we explored the river or nearby places. The owner said there was no booking in our name and only a four-bed suite available. The travel platform confirmed our reservation and asked us to give the property the booking number. When we called back with the details, the owner said they don't accept online bookings and handle them offline because of concerns about online cancellation fraud. He also said the platform hadn't called to confirm. We couldn't stay and had to make other arrangements. Based on what happened, I'd caution other travelers against relying on an online booking here, since even our paid reservation wasn't accepted. Later that day, the property still appeared available online for those same dates. Fortunately, an angel helped us at the last minute and things worked out even better. That story is for another day.
