Virman Riverside Resort

I felt awkward throughout our stay because of the owner’s behavior. He repeatedly stared at my girlfriend in a way that made her uncomfortable, especially when she wore shorts. We didn’t feel relaxed or welcome. Guests should feel safe and respected, and that was missing here. I honestly wouldn’t recommend this place if you’re traveling with a partner or female friends.

Yash Bhandari ji helped us with everything, and the quiet starry nights made the stay especially refreshing. Virman Tirthan Valley in Himachal Pradesh is close to the Great Himalayan National Park, making it a good base for light treks and nature walks. The fresh mountain air and gentle sound of the Tirthan River add to the peaceful, natural setting. The stay is cozy, and the food is simple.

The way we were treated completely spoiled our trip. On calls, the owner was rude and aggressive, used inappropriate language, and at one point said “kya bakwaas hai ye,” along with other offensive words. It made us very uncomfortable. Himachal is known for a peaceful, welcoming atmosphere, so this was especially disappointing. Hospitality also depends on how guests are treated, and this place failed badly at that. I strongly wouldn’t recommend it to anyone wanting a respectful, peaceful stay.

Virman Riverside has a lovely atmosphere, with wooden architecture and the constant sound of the river. We spent two nights there and really enjoyed the food, which felt authentic and home cooked. Thanks to our host Yash Bhai for that and for the bonfire. The road in is a bit tricky and not great, but the resort itself was 10/10. Worth the effort to get there.
