Hotel Welcome Palace

The location near DD Puram is good, but the room cleanliness wasn't hygienic, so the hotel quality felt average. If you plan to book here, go through Goibibo, since they offer the best prices.

Hotel Welcome palace is near ram janki mandir. I got a room quickly, and it was good for its price category. The interior was nice, the AC and fans worked smoothly, and the washrooms were clean. Service was nice too. I even got my beer at 2am night. The whole experience was good.

I was travelling at night with my wife and small kid to another city, and the front desk guy wasted 30 minutes of my time. After I entered the hotel, I waited 8-10 minutes for him to respond because he was on a phone call. I asked for an AC room and then a discount. He gave me 100 inr off, then treated me as if I was getting the room for free, asking what time we'd check out and saying we'd better do it quickly. I asked to see the room, but he kept pushing me to enter my details first. I filled in the register, and still he didn't show me the room. When I asked about food, he said, "dekh lenge sir mil gaya to, kya lenge". Then he asked for ID. I gave him my aadhar card and my wife's voter id and pan card. He kept inspecting her ID as if it were fake and asked why her surname wasn't on it. What kind of stupid question is that? IDs are normally made with the father's address, and she wasn't married to me from childhood, so of course her surname would be different. He kept tossing my IDs around while I stood there feeling like some kind of criminal. After waiting so long, I got irritated and asked for my IDs back. I told him I didn't want a room there and would check another hotel. I've never seen such a stupid person in my life. I feel pity for the owner. This employee didn't seem at all interested in bringing in business.

It was clean, the service was good, and the staff behaved well. The hotel is good for a budget stay. I was travelling from Kanpur to Rishikesh and stopped here for one night. The staff were great.
