Zip By Spree Hotels Samudra

The hotel was a peaceful, comfortable place to stay, and the staff were courteous and quick to help with every request. We were there for my daughter’s skating event, and Zip by Spree Hotels was handy, just five minutes from the Shivganga Skating Rink. Our room was spacious, neat, and comfortable. Breakfast was included, with a tasty, healthy spread and a good range of choices.

Food quality was below average, many restaurant items weren’t available despite the “ All day dining” claim, and I found discrepancies in the bill. Getting hot water took an hour, and the washbasin drainage was horrible. There was no handle on the bathroom door either. I also spent 30-40 mins trying to reach reception for service. None of the numbers provided for different services were answered, so I had to go downstairs to find someone. That tells you what to expect if you stay here.

The location is really good, right in the main market, and the rooms are good value for money. Service was excellent. Thanks to Ruban for making the stay comfortable, and a special mention to housekeeping staff member Veeresh.

We arrived at 8.00 AM for an early checkin we’d arranged directly with the hotel, but a different staff member said they couldn’t give us a room then. I’d confirmed twice with Mr. Kuldeep, who said he’d somehow arrange one, and someone else from the hotel called the evening before we arrived to confirm everything was set. The agreed price of Rs. 2,600 incl. GST for a Twin Bed Double Occupancy room was fine with us. Then they turned us away once we got there. I’ve never had this happen at another hotel and will never return. Be careful with your bookings.
