Hotel Bharatpur Ashok

The location inside the national park is the best part. We had a beautiful view and could watch wild animals coming to drink water all night, with rabbits, deer, and other bright eyes showing up at the hotel. Listening to the animals at night was special. The hotel itself is old and drab, and the service was poor: wet spoons, dirty cups, and mediocre food. I don’t think it gets better than the chance to see and hear the animals there.

The rooms have aged, but they’re spacious and have balconies. Right inside the national park, the hotel has a good ambience and a good restaurant. Saleem Ali center is right beside it, worth visiting for more information about the park.

We spent 3 nights and 4 days here in summer and all loved the hotel. It’s inside Keoladeo national park and near some museum. We couldn’t spot enough birds in summer, but we did see many animals. The rooms were good, with a tub, TV, and a very bouncy bed. Staff were friendly and the food was good, though spicy. I recommend this hotel to everyone.

Birders can see lots of birds from the room itself, which isn’t possible at hotels outside the park. The place has its limitations, as it’s run by govt, but it’s worth staying here. I hope management makes some improvements and makes it more beautiful. It’s a birders paradise.
