The room is roomy by Mumbai standards, with a nice window, a clean washroom, and an airy feel. I think the layout has potential, and ₹1400 for a standard noon checkout seems fair. Still, the basics need work. Getting a good night's rest was difficult. The AC temperature was an issue, and the two small, cheap sleeper-bus-style blankets weren't a substitute for a proper full-size one. The blanket was too small for me and awkward to use over a stay of several days. Power cuts happened often. The generator came on, but the AC didn't, and even when the main power returned I had to remind staff to turn the AC back on. That was especially inconvenient at night. The tiles felt very greasy, and I found an old cigarette in the room, which made me question the housekeeping. There was also a noticeable tipping culture that some guests may not be comfortable with.

The toilets didn't work and the food was below standard. The stay was disappointing and fell short of expectations. I wouldn't stay here.

I had dinner at the taris of hotel Ambrosia. The bill was 950, and the waiter directly asked me to add money for his service, so I added 50 and paid 1000rs. Then the lift person asked me for money too. I said I'd already given extra at the dinner table, and then the parking person asked me to provide him with money. I felt like I was in the wrong place. The bill was paid, and they're receiving salaries, so being asked for more money was very bad. I'll never visit again.

The location isn't really to my taste, but the food is fine. The papad they serve is especially unusual and tasty, and the starters are worth trying. The chicken biryani and tandoori dishes weren't that tasty, while the vegetarian food seemed okay to me. I'd recommend visiting mainly for that special papad.
