The location is really good, and the service is very good too. This is a very good hotel.
The staff seemed to have no idea about housekeeping or service, and the overall cleanliness was very poor. The rooms were filthy, the bathroom and toilet were awful and completely unclean, with a foul smell like a public toilet. The WC looked as if it had never been cleaned with Harpic. The bedsheet was stained, and the blanket was dirty with food and other marks. I would not recommend this hotel to families.
The staff were extremely rude and behaved terribly. Basic facilities were missing too: the AC didn’t work properly, the washrooms weren’t clean, and there were no accessories available. They don’t understand hospitality.
The staff at Swastik Hotel were friendly and attentive, always ready to help with a smile. My room was clean, comfortable and well-appointed, with modern amenities and a comfortable bed. I had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend it.
The room was filthy, with hair everywhere. I photographed the dirty bedsheets and blankets, which were covered in hair, and the washroom too. It was so unhygienic that I suspect the commode might not have been cleaned for many months. When I asked reception to at least change the sheets, they said, “Those are the only bedsheets, there won’t be another one.” The night before, I’d arrived at around 10:30 p.m. on 27th September 2024 after a full day of travel: two flight changes, a four-hour train journey and three cab journeys. I’d already notified the hotel about my late check-in through an Agoda representative. Still, the boy at reception kept me waiting over 40 minutes and demanded extra money. I explained I’d paid in full through Agoda, but they wouldn’t accept it. When I asked them to show me the booking details and where it said my payment was incomplete, they argued again. After I proved I’d paid, I asked them to finish the formalities, but they said, “No, you have to pay extra, this amount won’t be enough.” I somehow managed the money issue. I asked for my luggage to be brought to my room door, and they said, “Brother, you have to carry your own luggage, no one here is your servant.” I had to carry it myself. They then didn’t give me a room key and told me, “Leave it open, nothing will happen to your belongings.” I refused because my luggage had important documents and I couldn’t leave the door unlocked, especially with no CCTV cameras. After I insisted, they finally gave me the key. The next day, after my interview, I returned with a friend and asked to change rooms, as they’d promised the night before. They denied promising that and started arguing again, using abusive language. I recorded the conversation. I said I wouldn’t stay and asked for a refund minus one day’s stay. The boys again used offensive language, saying, “You won’t get any money back. Stay if you want, otherwise get out. Lots of people like you come here. Say any more and I’ll deal with you right here.” I left because there was no point arguing further. The reception staff were unprofessional and lacked basic manners, and the hotel service was extremely poor. I tried calling the manager many times, but he never answered or called me back. I then explained everything to Agoda customer service, including the abusive language and the refusal to refund me. Agoda said they’d try to get the hotel to refund me but couldn’t guarantee it. Since I’d booked through Agoda relying on its reputation, I said it was their responsibility to help. They took my request and never called back. I got very little support from Agoda in this difficult situation.
