Hotel Palash House by OYO Rooms

The owner was especially kind when I got sick. He personally attended to me and came to see me at the hospital, and I’m very grateful to him. The hospitality was nice, the room comfortable, and the facilities were all very good. Amazing. Thanks to the owner.

Stay away from this kind of hotel. They quote a lower tariff when you book, then ask for an advance covering the stay plus an extra amount. At checkout, they don’t refund the extra deposit, and if you object, they threaten you with adverse consequences. Since guests are often from other towns and cities, they may not want to waste time arguing over a few hundred or thousand rupees. They’re only there to cheat people.

I visited in the first week of December 2022. The hotel is right in front of Bhopal Lake, easy to reach, and has plenty of parking outside. Inside, though, the rooms weren’t properly ventilated, and the washrooms were in a terrible state, with rusty, nonfunctional fixtures. The pillow covers and bedsheets were stained. We asked for replacements, but those were stained too. The staff tried their best to accommodate us, but we ended up leaving.

Even though we had booked and paid in advance, he refused to let us in, abused us, and said they don’t give rooms for online bookings. My younger sister was in pain, and we were left helpless outside at 4: A.M. for more than half an hour, with very little light in front of the hotel. When I called to confront him about the false listing, he said, "haan to kya kar loge mai nhi hataunga ise Oyo rooms se aur room bhi nhi dunga". After waiting a long time, I had no choice but to cancel. I think Oyo rooms should check owners’ backgrounds before listing hotels like this. My sister and I felt very unsafe, and I think I should file a police complaint against him and the hotel. Oyo rooms still haven’t refunded me either. Pathetic service. Beware of these fraudster.
