Our family gathering was held in the resort’s mega banquet hall, where we were welcomed with drinks and vegetarian starters. After introductions and a house-number game, lunch was served with both vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes and sweets. The food was tasty and plentiful, and the setting felt pleasant. The manager and staff were courteous, and our group later boarded the bus for the return trip. The Institute of Geosciencetist, Bhubaneswar arranged its 2026 annual family picnic and get-together at Amrapalli Resorts, after a bus trip to Madhabananda temple at Niali, which I reviewed separately. The resort has a large, well-developed area for events, with three air-conditioned halls and one hall without AC. There are pools for adults and children, tent cottages, and a thatched cottage outlet used as a bar at night. Ducks are often around the open pool, and there’s a separate AC restaurant by the pool.
