Priya Hotel has been part of my childhood, and I still get the same satisfaction from its food. It’s one of the trusted old South Indian restaurants in the heart of Bhubaneswar. The dishes are fresh, simple, tasty, and affordable, and the quality has stayed consistent over the years. To me, it’s tied to childhood memories and Bhubaneswar’s authentic food culture. Anyone who enjoys South Indian food at a reasonable price should visit. Highly recommended.

Before heading to the airport, we asked our driver for somewhere with good, authentic food, and he took us to Hotel Priya. A table near the cash counter was free when we arrived. We asked about South Indian dishes but chose North Indian Ala Carte instead. The food was satisfying in taste, quality, and portion size. While waiting for our order, we noticed there’s no table booking or privacy. If you’re fewer than four people, someone else can sit across from you at lunch or dinner.
It had been around 10 years since I last visited this restaurant. The taste seems to have taken a back seat, and the service was quite slow. Still, this is a nostalgic spot for every minelial who grew up in Bhubaneswar. It serves authentic South Indian food in generous portions at very pocket-friendly prices. Onion masala dosa used to be its best seller.
Idli and dosa are the highlights for me, and they taste fresh and really good. The sambar and chutneys go nicely with them, and there are plenty of other options, most of which taste great. You can get refreshing drinks like juice and lassi too. Hotel Priya is a simple, popular place that’s been around for a long time, and it’s a nice spot for South Indian food.
I liked the Dosa and Paneer chatpata. The South Indian dishes taste authentic, while the North Indian food is superb. There’s a good variety, the portions are okay, and the prices are reasonable. The sweets are tasty but expensive. You can get Jaggery and sugar free Chenapoda.
