Nilay Residency

The catering was the worst part of our marriage function at Nilay Residency. They were supposed to provide enough food under the contract, but kept delaying refills so guests couldn't wait around for the items. Prawn, mutton, and nan were delayed, and the veg. Pulao was awful. Even after we reminded them, the same thing happened at the reception. They also charged full price for small kids who ate only small portions. They insisted on full advance payment, leaving us unable to do anything about the bad service and the shortage of food. A very bad experience.

For my son's birthday party, the staff served warm food throughout and were very cordial. The management handled the decorations well, too, and communicated clearly with us before the event. We booked the convention hall.

Food was the biggest disappointment at my big day. The quality was very low, it was served cold, starters were gone after about an hour, and plenty of menu items were missing. When guests asked, staff kept saying they were coming. The quantity was a problem too: although we paid per plate and the number was agreed in advance, the food ran out when only half the guests had been served. My brother even had to pay the caterers extra off the books so they would cook and serve. Room service was unreliable. Guests waited a long time for someone to open rooms, we asked 15 times for water bottles, and the bathroom taps didn't work. During checkout, my friends were asked to pay for water bottles and other things that had already been paid for and documented. The decoration team wasn't given enough time to set up the hall. When they raised it, they were told to use the previous day's stage. I'm grateful SCS Decor managed beautiful work in such a short time and helped with things the hotel management hadn't handled. The staff offended guests, and there wasn't even one person available to host them. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for any event. They take on multiple events and even 100 pax when they can't manage them, just for the money. I had no other hotel or banquet hall option by May, with most places already booked for Nov 21. They approached me and promised the best service, so I chose them. That was my biggest mistake. I've hosted and attended many events where small things get overlooked, but this was completely unacceptable.

Parking is available, but there's no wheelchair access. It could work for a small meeting, marriage, or conversation.
