Being near the lake is a real plus, and the rooms are decent, though there's room to improve them. I'd suggest it for a short, affordable stay. Autos and other transport are easy to find nearby. The food at Green Rock restaurant, about 100m away, is the best part.
Jitender Singh Bisht, who is from Almora, Uttarakhand, at the reception was a big help whenever I needed something. He even arranged a rental bike from a nearby place at short notice so I could get around to all the places I wanted to see. As a solo traveler in Bhuj for Rann Utsav, I had a very pleasant stay at Shiv Hotel near Bhuj Bus Port. The room was clean, the amenities were provided, and hot water was available in the morning. My time in Bhuj was memorable.
For ₹3000 a night, the state of the room and service was nowhere near acceptable. It was poorly kept, dirty, and smelled bad enough to make the stay uncomfortable. There was no hot water, and several basic amenities were missing. The price simply wasn't justified, and I wouldn't recommend Shiv Hotel for value.
Parking is available, and you can order food to the room. Javed Bhai, the manager, was very helpful. For a good thali and quality food, Shankar lodge is only a five-minute walk away. A good budget hotel.
The one thing going for this place is its location. Staff weren't supportive, and even after asking several times for drinking water, they only brought some later. I also asked for hot water and didn't get it. We turned down the extra bed right away, but were still charged for it. I'd avoid staying here if there are other options.
