Hotel Sagarmatha

The balconies don't block much sound, so conversations from neighboring rooms carry through and privacy is limited. That makes this a poor fit for a long stay or working from the hotel. For an overnight stop, though, it’s comfortable, and the staff are very welcoming. It’s also handy for paragliders, with the Bir landing site an easy walk away. The food comes in generous portions at a fair price.

It’s cheap and might do if all you need is somewhere to sleep, but there’s little to enjoy beyond that. The rooms don’t have proper ventilation, and the food was awful. I’d avoid ordering it, or you may regret it for the rest of the day.

Good food, attached bathrooms, and the staff treated everyone well. The dormitories for drivers were nice too. 👍

The food was a big disappointment, poorly cooked and sometimes only half done, and I didn’t get the sense that the kitchen paid attention to hygiene or quality. The rooms were also badly maintained, with poor sanitation. Water pressure in the bathrooms was so low that even taking a shower was a hassle. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone expecting basic hotel standards. Honestly, it barely feels like a hotel, and there are better options in Bir for a more comfortable, dependable stay.
