Hotel Sonar Bangla Joypur Forest

Everything felt calm and green, well away from city bustle, and I'd like to come back for the full experience. The staff were humble and considerate, and the hospitality was lovely. The amenities and food were great, with prices that felt right for a five-star resort. The infinity pool was amazing. They provide swimming costumes, but you have to buy one; they aren't reused, which felt hygienic.

We had a great day at Hotel Sonar Bangla in Joypur Forest. The forest-side atmosphere was lovely, and the property was well managed, with a beautiful pool. The staff were especially warm and welcoming. I'd highly recommend it for a peaceful break.

The resort itself is beautiful, but the service during our two nights at Sonar Bangla Resort, Joypur was very disappointing. The restaurant service was poor and came across as unwilling, almost as if serving us were a favor. Most staff seemed unfriendly and uninterested, without even a smile, and requests often got a negative reply that things were “not available.” For a resort, hospitality matters a lot, and management needs to improve staff behavior, guest handling, and service quality.

We visited in the first week of April. The resort covers a huge area, has indoor and outdoor games, and the luxurious rooms justified the Rs.11000 tariff. Housekeeping service and hospitality were excellent. The restaurant food was good, but the staff's attitude kept this from being a perfect weekend getaway. They acted snobby, as if they owned the hotel, and when we raised a problem they turned it back on us. On the first day, we waited a long time for our à la carte dessert, and they even switched off the restaurant AC. When we pointed that out, they showed no regret. At breakfast the next day, the toaster was set too hot and the bread kept burning. I politely asked them to lower it, but they said the temperature was fine and that I must have toasted it twice, as if I didn't know how to toast simple bread.
