Hyatt Place Bodh Gaya

I've eaten at the restaurant at Hyatt Hotel, Gaya several times, and the experience has been consistently excellent. The staff are courteous and attentive, and the clean, elegant, comfortable setting works for a casual meal or a special occasion. The menu has good variety, and every dish I've tried has been delicious and well balanced, with care given to freshness, taste, and presentation. Hyatt Hotel, Gaya delivers a high standard of food and service. It's one of the city's best dining options, and I look forward to returning.

We trusted the Hyatt name for a two night break while travelling in India, and ended up with a really disappointing stay. We had booked a king bed, but only twins were available when we arrived, so they gave us a complimentary upgrade. The first night was good. On the second, we got very bad food poisoning. We'd eaten only at the hotel restaurant for the previous 1.5 days to stay safe and protect our Christmas plans, so there's no doubt to us that the hotel food caused it. Our symptoms were severe enough that we had to add a night and rebook onward transport, at significant cost. We were in no condition to move rooms, and after repeatedly asking, we could stay in the same room at our original rate. Staff didn't seem aware of what had happened. We had to explain it each time we spoke to a new person, when the system should have had a note and we should have been met with more understanding. We tried not to pay the food bill for the meal that gave us food poisoning, but got only 50% off. There was no other discount or support. The incident ruined our Christmas holiday plans, and we'll be reluctant to stay at a Hyatt again.

Durga's cheerful manner made our three days at the hotel more enjoyable, and the butter lamp experience was memorable too. The room was comfortable, but the service was what really stood out. We'd absolutely love to come back.

Gorgeous mustard fields surround this brand new, modern hotel. The accommodations felt divine in this portal to heaven, with excellent HVAC, cleanliness, and cuisine. The service was sincere and professional, a pleasant surprise for Bihar.
