Kundan Bazar Guest House

The staff are so kind, the food is excellent, and this is the cleanest hotel I’ve stayed in in India. Absolutely recommend it.

There’s a rooftop restaurant, and the menu has plenty of options, including some vegan dishes. The guesthouse also sells books and clothes at fair prices. My room and the facilities were clean and well maintained, and the staff were really friendly and helpful with requests. Wi-Fi was very fast, with great coverage on every floor.

The staff were helpful, and being close to Bodhi Temple is a plus. But the rooms are small and not very good, the hygiene is poor, and the bedsheets weren’t in great condition, honestly.

The street leading here might put you off, but don’t judge the guest house by it. Parking is across the street, and while there’s no private parking, our vehicle was completely safe. We stayed one night and wished we’d booked longer. The rooms are spacious for two, or at most three people, and well ventilated. For this price, I hadn’t found another hotel or guest house with all these facilities. The TV wasn’t working, but when you’re out visiting Buddhist temples, it’s not something you’ll miss much. The rooms, floors, desk, wardrobe, linen, towels, and bathroom were all clean and fresh. Shubham welcomed us. He’s very young, polite, responsive, quick to arrange things, and manages the place himself. There’s also a reading area with roughly 800-1000 books in different genres, where you can sit and relax with something you like. The guest house is around 1.8 km from the main Mahabodhi Temple, and transport is available within a five-minute walk.
