The male owner was much nicer, but I was afraid to ask the women for anything. They were grumpy and rude, and made guests seem like a burden. I stayed friendly, but they should at least treat people like human beings. On the first day I mentioned a dripping faucet and a few other problems, and was told, “you are disturbing us alot”. There are several kinds of rooms, with the most modern ones upstairs. It’s not a quiet place: families and tourists come and go, doors slam, people talk loudly, and the guest house is right by the road.

The owners and employees were kind and helpful, and arranged things for us when we asked. We had a good stay and would come back. These were the best rooms we’d had in India, with great air conditioning and a good bathroom, hot shower and western toilet.

There’s hot water around the clock, and the shared spaces are handy if you want to make breakfast. The place is clean and spacious, with easy access to the temple and cafeteria. For Indian standards, the quality is really good.

Mahabodhi temple is just a five-minute walk away. The guest house was very clean and good, and one of the women running it was very helpful and got us everything we needed.

The hostesses were sweet, polite, and prompt whenever we needed service, while leaving guests undisturbed. The rooms were clean and the rent reasonable. There’s no dining service, but lots of restaurants are within a five-minute walk. Mahabodhi Temple and other Buddhist temples are less than a kilometre away. A great place to stay in Bodhgaya.
