Hotel Shelsta

The location is the only good thing about this resort. The photos are misleading, and the room was one of the worst I’ve stayed in: the AC and locks didn’t work, there was a strong bleach smell, the mattresses were awful, and the rooms never get cleaned. There’s no privacy either. Staff were poor, and when people were drinking and making a racket in the pool, no one asked them to quiet down. Please don’t stay here.

The location is the one good thing here, but I wouldn’t recommend the stay. The receptionist seemed unprofessional, and when we asked to see rooms before booking, the first had filthy floors while the second was cleaner but extremely small. We booked for two people at ₹1800, then learned Wi-Fi wasn’t available in our room because of the “package,” something nobody had mentioned beforehand. The bed and towels were dirty, and the AC made a lot of noise at night. Staff said they didn’t have a bucket and mug when I asked for them to shower, even though those are basic items. Cleanliness and service were poor.

The price didn’t feel justified, and I left stressed and regretful instead of rested. Noise from the hallway kept me awake most of the night, the AC barely worked, and Wi-Fi was unreliable. The room was already dirty on arrival, with stained sheets and a bad bathroom odor. Housekeeping took hours to come despite repeated requests, and only partly dealt with the problem. The front desk staff were dismissive and unhelpful when I asked for basic things like towels and hot water. It didn’t seem like guest satisfaction mattered to them. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel unless cleanliness, staff attitude and maintenance improve substantially.

Entering the room ruined our good mood. The supposed premium room had nothing premium about it: there were stains on the walls, the lights were very dim, and both the bedsheets and cushion had multiple marks.
