OYO 27909 Coco Garden Bar & Restaurant

The staff were rude, and even basic service stopped after 9, including getting water. We had to go downstairs to collect it ourselves. Cockroaches were running around the room, and the bread and tea served for breakfast weren't drinkable. Even with the AC set to 16 during our two-day stay, it didn't cool. Worst hotel I've ever found, not even worth one star.

As a solo traveller, I mainly wanted a quiet place with a decent bed and bathroom, and Stay Coco garden worked well for my three nights. The room was clean, the bathroom was roomy, and there was hot water all day. The staff were friendly and ready to help, and the property had a positive feel as soon as I arrived. I had a great stay.

The location is the one good thing, very close to the main market. The service was frustrating. There's no intercom, so the receptionist gives you his mobile number, and the same man would enter the room to bring breakfast while guests were inside. He should know not to do that. At checkout around 7 in the morning, nobody was at reception. The two dogs kept barking at the main gate, and after several unanswered calls to the receptionist, I had to wake another caretaker so he could open the gate and take the dogs away. The booking was also a mess. The hotel was no longer associated with OYO, but neither OYO nor the hotel told me before I arrived. The hotel refused check-in even though I'd booked and paid. OYO support refunded me after I used some strong words, but I was stranded there with my family and couldn't find rooms anywhere else. I ended up paying a much higher price for rooms at the same hotel. My one star is for the hotel's service, not its separation from OYO.

The owners were so sweet and helpful, and I had a wonderful stay at coco garden. I also loved the food at their in-house restaurant, the best Goan food I ate. I'd recommend the place and hope to come back.
