Casa De Xavu, Candolim Goa

The old Goan Portuguese character of this villa really comes through, and the ocean is close enough that you can hear it. We liked the sound, though the daytime sun was the one thing that made it harder to enjoy the tree-shaded bungalow. The air-conditioning was very comfortable, on a par with a star-category resort. Nezvila was wonderfully helpful, especially for anyone new to Goa. The rooms were cozy, clean, and comfortable. The beach and market are an easy walk away, too. I stayed with my wife and our 15-year-old brat. The first-floor room had a bed big enough for all three of us. There was a small extra charge for the third person, which seemed nominal and fair given how clean everything was and how helpful the staff were. I’d recommend it to anyone after an affordable stay with good facilities and neat, comfortable spaces.
